Welcome to the Natalia Shelikof Chapter,

Alaska Society Daughters of the American Revolution

Kodiak, Alaska

Organized October 7, 1982, Natalia Shelikof Chapter derives its name from the courageous wife and partner of Grigor Ivonovitch Shelikof, founder of the Russian Colonies in America. Together the Shelikofs established the first permanent settlement at Three Saints Bay, Kodiak Island in 1784 while pursuing the fur trade.

Natalia Shelikof was influential in establishing schools, developing agriculture, and bringing the Russian Orthodox Church to Alaska.

Several geographic names commemorate this capable visionary woman in Alaska.
