Escalante, Utah
Andrew Orlemann lives in Escalante, Utah. He is married to the painter Valerie Orlemann,
and has one daughter, Ellen. Aside from a single undergraduate photography class, Andrew
was largely ignorant of picture making until his friend, Luke Smart, introduced him to the
basics during the late 1990s. Starting with a simple analog camera, Andrew began shooting
hundreds of slides in places like the San Rafael Swell, the Desolation River Canyon, and
Utah's west desert. In 2006, Andrew made the move to digital, and now collects most of his
images using a digital SLR. Whatever the format, however, Andrew is always working to
create visually interesting images.
