Ouray, Colorado – The Outdoor Painters Society hosted a week-long paint out at the foot of the San Juans in Ouray, Colorado. It is beautiful country, and I did a lot of painting. Still, the desert views off Highway 70 made me long to get back to painting Utah.

Plein Air Paradise – From June 26 – July 4, I participated in the Midway Art Association’s “Wasatch Plein Air Paradise” paint out. I can pull together a pretty good plein air (outdoor) painting when I’m painting the usual—cliffs, rocks, juniper, sage, etc. But it was a challenge taking on a new and different landscape.
